Seiko has added something exciting to its Seiko 5 Sports lineup with the new Field Series: the HDB006K1, HDB007K1, HDB008K1, and HDB009K1. These watches take inspiration from classic field watches, simple, tough, and easy to read, but give them a modern twist that fits just as well in the city as it does outdoors.

One of the first things you’ll notice is the updated 41 mm stainless steel case. It hits a nice sweet spot, not too big, not too small, so it sits comfortably on most wrists. Seiko also added a bidirectional compass bezel, a nod to vintage field watches, which gives the watch a more tool-like, adventure-ready feel.
Even with the new design touches, readability is still front and center. The large Arabic numerals, bright LumiBrite on the hands and markers, and a clean minute track make it easy to check the time at a glance, whether you’re in bright sunlight or low light. The familiar day-date display at 3 o’clock is still there too, keeping things practical and true to the Seiko 5 Sports identity.

Inside, all four models run on Seiko’s reliable Caliber 4R36 automatic movement. It also supports manual winding, has a 41-hour power reserve, and includes a stop-seconds function for more precise time setting. With 24 jewels, it’s built for consistent, everyday performance. The watches are protected by a curved Hardlex crystal and offer 100 meters of water resistance, so they’re more than ready for daily wear. A see-through screw-down case back adds a nice finishing touch for those who enjoy seeing the movement in action.
Each model has its own personality while sharing the same solid foundation. The HDB006K1 comes with a black dial and stainless steel bracelet, giving it a clean, classic look that works in almost any setting. The HDB007K1 features a white dial on the same bracelet, offering a brighter, more modern feel that still stays versatile.

If you prefer something more rugged, the HDB008K1 stands out with its khaki green dial and durable double-layer nylon strap, perfect for outdoor use. The HDB009K1 goes for a warmer, vintage-inspired style with its brown dial and matching nylon strap, giving it a more relaxed, adventurous vibe. Both strap versions are lightweight and comfortable, making them great for long days on the move.
